Voice Actor Tomori Kusunoki to Release New CD Single "Shingetsu" in May
The title tune is produced by TETSUYA (L’Arc-en-Ciel)
Voice actor/singer-songwriter Tomori Kusunoki (Makima in Chainsaw Man) is ready to release her new single "Shingetsu" (Crescent Moon) in Japan on May 8, 2024.
Since her solo major debut in 2020, she has been building a successful singing career, with all four of her EPs reaching the Oricon weekly charts' top 10. While she has also released six digital singles, "Shingetsu" will be her first single to be released in a CD format. The title tune will be released digitally first on April 20, then its CD single will be available on May 8.
As reported, "Singetsu" will be featured as the ending theme for the upcoming second cour of the TV anime The Misfit of Demon King Academy II. Kusunoki previously sang "Hamidashimono," the ending theme for the anime's first season in 2020, and has also voiced one of the anime's main heroines, Misha Necron.
"I am honored to be in charge of the ending for the Selection Trial arc of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II and to be involved in this series again, both as Misha Necron and as the ending theme artist," Kusunoki said. "I was struck by the characters who struggle with the loss of their own significance and value of existence, and in the end always open the door to the future of their own volition, and I wanted to incorporate the painful yet powerful nobility into the music. TETSUYA-san, an artist I respect and admire, provided the music, and I put my feelings into the lyrics and the song. I hope that listeners will be able to hear this song over the characters and themselves."
The title tune was produced by TETSUYA, Japanese rock band L’Arc-en-Ciel's leader and bassist.
